Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of FinTech in financial risk management through a case study of Asiacell and Asia Hawala for the period 2018-2024. The main problem of the study is the following question: To what extent do the FinTech services "Asia Hawala" contribute to improving the management of financial risks in Asiacell? The study adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology, using quarterly data collected from official Iraqi sources, including the Iraq Stock Exchange and the Central Bank of Iraq. Data were analyzed using Excel and SPSS, and indicator results were corroborated by reliable official and news sources during the study period. The results showed a mixed impact of FinTech. The amount of money transfers had no significant positive impact on current, while it was positively correlated with the debt-to-equity ratio and negatively correlated with the net profit margin. Conversely, the number of transactions had a positive impact on current ratios, but had no significant impact on debt ratios or profit margin. The study concludes that fintech plays a multifaceted role in Asiacell's financial risk management. While the number of transactions directly enhances liquidity, the volume of transfers helps reduce indebtedness but negatively affects profitability. The study recommends that Asiacell enhance FinTech integration by increasing transaction frequency, improving cost efficacy, and diversifying funding to lower debt. Reliance also encourages future research to examine additional FinTech indicators and a wider scope of financial risks.
