Use of DOI

The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) provides a permanent citation and link to electronic documents. A DOI consists of a unique alphanumeric string assigned to a document by the publisher upon its first electronic publication. Once assigned, the DOI never changes, ensuring that links created by authors using the DOI will always direct readers to the correct document.
