plagiarism policy
Every manuscript submitted to TANRA is screened using iThenticate to detect plagiarism and ensure originality. Plagiarism is considered a major violation of publication ethics. Other infractions include duplicate publication, data fabrication or falsification, and misattribution of authorship.
Therefore, it is considered unethical to plagiarize or knowingly submit false or misleading information. Simultaneously submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals is also strictly prohibited, as this constitutes unethical publishing behavior. It is important to note that TANRA may tolerate up to 20% similarity in a duplicate manuscript. If the AI-generated content score exceeds 25%, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision to reduce the score below 25%. In addition to plagiarism and AI checks, all submissions are screened for hidden formatting flags, which are removed when found. A manuscript will be immediately rejected if it contains any hidden or manipulated flags.
CrossCheck is a service developed to help editors verify the uniqueness of publications. The iThenticate program from iParadigms, widely known in academia as the provider of Turnitin, powers CrossCheck. Please visit www.ithenticate.com for a searchable list of all journals in the CrossCheck database.
Within TANRA's editing system, CrossCheck is automatically used to screen all incoming submissions. An Editorial Board member may also choose to run a similarity report either after publication or at any stage of the review process. The similarity report’s default view shows the percentage of the manuscript text that matches one or more published works.
