Through psychological, physical, and vocal tools, the actor expresses identity and self within social and environmental contexts that shape and reshape the body as a cultural medium. Within this framework, biculturalism emerges as an intersection between biological dimensions—such as the body, senses, and emotions—and the cultural and social data acquired from the surrounding environment. This concept is clearly manifested in the performance of the Mosuli theatrical actor, whose cultural heritage is evident in vocal tone, bodily expression, and movement patterns.

The research examines how Mosuli actors transform their biocultural characteristics into creative resources that enhance theatrical performance, providing characters with credibility, local specificity, and artistic distinction. To address this issue, the study is structured into four chapters. The first chapter presents the methodological framework, defining the research problem through the central question of how biocultural performance mechanisms are employed in Mosul theatre. It also outlines the significance of the study in exploring the impact of environmental and biological factors on theatrical performance, its relevance to directing and acting practices, the research objectives, boundaries, and key terminological definitions.

The second chapter establishes the theoretical framework, consisting of two sections: “Biculturalism as a Social Conceptual Approach” and “Performance Mechanisms in Theatrical Methods,” followed by a set of analytical indicators derived from this framework. The third chapter details the research procedures, including the research methodology, population, sample, research tools, and sample analysis. The fourth chapter presents the research findings, conclusions, proposals, and recommendations, highlighting their scientific, cognitive, and practical value for theatre practitioners and researchers. The study concludes with a comprehensive list of sources and references.
Hussam Khider Nashat Sliwa Copyright (c) 2026 Fnon Al-Rafidayn Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-01-02 2026-01-02 2 4 1 15
